Andharban is one of the most refreshing treks in the Sahyadri mountain region. The name ‘Andharban’ is a compound word, coming from Andhar, meaning ‘dark’, and ban, which means ‘forest’. Literally the ‘dark forest’, Andharban is a trail through the dense overgrowth, with beautiful views of the Kundalika valley.
It is a descending trek – it begins at an elevation of approximately 2,160 feet in the Sahyadri Mountains and descends down into the valley, to reach the backwaters of the Bhira Dam.
Protect yourself from all-day treks this summer. Trek on a cold night and experience night trekking in the mountains, valleys and forests of Sahyadri. The night trek experience is very different and beautiful. One of the great benefits of a night trek is that you get to see the sunrise.
Please reach your pickup point and meet with SG-Trekkers representatives to mark your attendance.
You will be transferred by private bus to base camp or the starting point of the trek.
We arrive at the starting point of the Andharban trek. Our field experts will provide pre-trek information and instructions to all participants.
Now, we start the trek towards the Andharban Forest.
You need to walk through the dense forest of Tamhini WLS. After about 7 hours of walking, our trek will end.
