Overall, the Kusur Pathar trek is a great option for those seeking a challenging yet rewarding offbeat adventure in the Sahyadri. With its stunning views, diverse landscapes, and unique villages, this trek is sure to leave you with lasting memories.
The Kusur Pathar Trek is moderately challenging in the Sahyadri Mountains near Kamshet, MH, India. About 65 km from Pune, the “Kusur Plateau” is wonderful, fascinating and less visited. Our trek starts from the village of Vadeshwar, about 15 km from Kanhe Phata on the old Pune-Mumbai highway.
In the beginning, the ascent of the Kusur Plateau continues by walking through paddy fields. Passing through the forest, we come to another tiny village resting on the Kusur plateau. From there a picturesque view of the backwater of the Thokarwadi dam can be seen.
Kusur plateau continues from here. It is a plateau of about 20-30 sq. km spread east to west. After walking some distance, one comes to the Waghoba temple built by local people. A great place to rest. From here the trek descends through the thick forest to the Jambhivali village near Historical Kondeshwar Temple and there our trekking journey ends.
The trek can be strenuous, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended. The ideal months to visit for the Kusur Pathar Trek are between June and December. The weather is pleasant during this time, and the monsoon season (June to September) adds to the scenic beauty with cascading waterfalls along the trail.
