Shevte Ghat to Madhe Ghat is a beautiful monsoon trek in the Sahyadri mountain range. It’s almost a circuit trek.
Shevte Ghat starts from Bhordi village in Velhe Taluka of Pune district and ends at Shevte village in Konkan.
En route, you can see multiple waterfalls. We finally reach the Shevte village after passing through thick bushes, fog, rain and numerous water springs.
Walking from the Shevte village to the Waki village, we start climbing the “Madhe Ghat”. Although the Ghat is easy to climb, it requires a lot of effort.
Descending the Shevte Ghat for about 800 meters, we climb the Madhe Ghat for 550 meters and reach the village of Kelad. Our trek ends here.
Shevte Ghat descends in Shevte and Waki village of the Konkan region from Bhordi village of Pune district. The old trade route from the border to the Shevte village in Konkan. This route to the south of the Madhe Ghat and Upandya Ghat.
Due to its remote location rarely used by trekkers.
At the top of the Shevte Ghat is a small village called Gugulshi. From where this path descends to Shevte village in Konkan. This small village in Sahyadri is very beautiful and peaceful. It is surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, rivers and historical sites.
“Madhe Ghat” is in the southwest direction of the Pune district and is the border of the Pune-Raigad districts. It is about 60 km from Pune. From this place, one can see the vast area of Varandha Ghat and Shivtharghal.
Madhe Ghat is famous in and around Velhe for its beautiful waterfall. This waterfall with a height of about 250 feet attracts tourists during monsoons. Local people also call this waterfall “Lakshmi waterfall”. From this place, one can see the vast area of Varandha Ghat and Shivtharghal.
In history, when the warrior Narveer Tanhaji Malusare died in the battle of Sinhgad fort, his body was taken to his native village Umrath near Poladpur for cremation. The funeral procession of Narveer Tanhaji Malusare was taken to his birthplace through the Madhe Ghat route.
