DAY 1
Bamnoli » Vasota Fort Trek & Boating » Bamnoli to Pune

Early in the morning, we depart for the base village of Bamnoli. Upon arrival, take a short break to freshen up and enjoy breakfast before beginning the scenic boat ride from Bamnoli to the Vasota Fort base. The approximately 1.5-hour ride across Shivsagar Lake (Koyna backwaters) offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and dense forests.

At the trek starting point, we begin our journey through the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected forest rich in flora and fauna. The trail gradually leads us to the top of Vasota Fort, where the ruins of the Hanuman and Mahadev temples stand amidst the plateau. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the thick forests, Koyna backwaters, Nageshwar Cave, and the surrounding Ghats and Konkan region.

After soaking in the scenery, we start our descent back to the base point, ensuring all trash is collected to maintain the sanctuary’s eco-sensitivity. At the boat point, we take the return ride to Bamnoli, enjoy some refreshments, and then depart for Pune, arriving around 10:00 PM.
