Walking through Sherpa country past cultivated fields and small villages, we have time to acclimatize before reaching spectacular high-altitude scenery: the incredible monastery at Thyangboche, views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam and other mighty Himalayan peaks. As well as reaching Everest Base Camp (5,360 m), we have the opportunity to climb Kala Pattar (5,545 m) for a magnificent view of the highest mountain on Earth.
The majestic views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kangtega, and many others are the most stunning aspect of this trek. Kala Patthar is the highest point of this overall trek and offers the classic views of Mt. Everest and many other snow-capped giants.
Our itineraries include several acclimatization days to ensure you remain fit and healthy. This increases your chances of reaching the Everest Base Camp and seeing the view of Everest from Kala Pattar.
Everest Base Camp Trek with Kala Patthar is one of the most rewarding, satisfying, and exciting treks not only among those in Nepal but the world.
Besides being adventurous and thrilling, the Everest Base Camp trek offers the adequate opportunity to explore the local Sherpa culture, and diverse ecosystem in the Sagarmatha National Park, and immerse yourself in the serene and tranquil environment of the Khumbu Valley. The trail passes through dense forests of Rhododendrons, Pine, Junipers, and Fir along the Dudh Koshi River traversing numerous settlements of Sherpas.
The domination of Sherpa Culture and Buddhist Religion in this area can be demonstrated by showcasing multi-coloured prayer flags, prayer wheels, and carved Mani Stones almost throughout the trail. We include visits to Sherpa villages and Buddhist monasteries at Tengboche.
You take the flight to the mountain airstrip at Lukla. From this small town, you start the Everest Base Camp and walk into the Himalayas. After ten days of hiking, we arrive at the Base Camp of Mount Everest at an elevation of 5,360 m. If you are in the Spring season you will see many expeditions climbing the route of Mount Everest.
After one night at the lodge in Gorakshep, we make the ascent of the walking peak of Kala Pattar at an elevation of 5,545 m. This is the high point of your mountain adventure with a spectacular view of “Chomolungma” known as “Mt Everest”.
The best season to go on the Everest Base Camp trek is between March to May and September to December when winds are calmer, the days are sunny, temperatures are mild and the trail is gorgeous with green dense forests, raging rivers and streams, the soothing sounds of the birds and animals and the uninterrupted views of the grand massifs throughout the trail.
The overall journey gets even more beautiful during these months.
EBC Trek requires a good level of physical fitness and some basic experience in trekking.
Everest Base Camp trek is one of the best trekking options for passionate trekkers willing to test their endurance and stamina. So, if you are planning to go on a trek to the base of the highest peak in the World, you better start going on short hikes and treks to places with higher altitudes than where you live.
Training Workout: A local training workout is provided for all Everest Base Camp participants. The workout provides an opportunity for the whole team to get to know each other prior to your departure.

Get your first glimpses of the mighty Himalayan range on the included flight from Kathmandu to Lukla – the famous airport in the sky. Hike with an experienced and passionate English-speaking local leader as well as a team of guides and porters who will introduce you to rich Sherpa culture.
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (Nepal), one of SG-Trekkers representatives will be waiting to welcome you. After the meet and greet, you will be transferred to the hotel. There you will freshen up and relax.
In the evening, a pre-trek briefing will be given where arrangements will be made for the distribution of your kit bag, also an introduction with the guide. Our guide will check your trekking equipment so you can also buy/rent trekking gear in Kathmandu for your convenience.
Day 1: Highlights

Early in the morning, after an amazing breakfast, we will take a thrilling flight to Lukla Airport via twin otter. The flight gives you a bird’s eye view of the valleys, rivers, hills, and gradual mountain ranges. Even though the flight is only for half an hour, it does not fail to mesmerize you now and then. As we land at Lukla Airport, where we can meet our Sherpa staff and Yaks/Porters for baggage and then begin our first day trekking to Phakding.
We will slowly move through the settlements on a mixed trail of dirt, stone pathways, and some rocky sections at times. This is an easy start so make sure to enjoy all the greeneries, floras, and faunas as you walk. The trail takes you over several suspension bridges and along the Dudh Koshi river. Enjoy the rest of the day at Phakding.

Heading out of Phakding we follow the Dudh Kosi northwards. This day’s walk takes us through magnificent forests with glimpses of the mountains ahead. We cross the river several times by bridges as we pass through the villages of Benkar, Monjo and Jorsale. A final bridge brings us to the foot of the steep climb to Namche. Halfway up this ascent, if cloud permitting, we may get our first glimpse of the summit of Mt. Everest appearing majestically behind the great ridge of Nuptse-Lhotse.
The last 300 m of climbing brings us to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital and the main town in the area. Namche is a prosperous Sherpa town and an important trading centre. It has a weekly market on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning but the town bustle all day every day with trekkers, coffee shops, bakeries and stores selling all kinds of trekking and climbing gear as well as Tibetan souvenirs.

Today is our acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. To adjust to the high altitude; we spend one more night in Namche Bazaar.
We hike to Khumjung crossing Syangboche airport. On the way, we go to Everest View hotel for the outstanding view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam. We visit Sir Edmund Hillary’s school and hospital at Khumjung and Khunde then walk down to Namche Bazaar.
Day 4: Highlights

We walk towards Tengboche, going downhill to the river and crossing the bridge. Again the trail climbs steeply at first then makes a gradual ascent through forests and mani stones and reaches Tengboche Monastery, the religious site which sits at 3,870 m. Look out for Himalayan Tahr in the forest surrounding the monastery.
Tengboche is the best place in the world that provides the most magnificent view of the Himalayan giants; Mt. Everest (8,848 m.), Mt. Nuptse (7,879 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Kongde Peak (6,187 m), Mt. Twachee (6,542 m), Mt. Kangtega and Mt. Thamserku.

In the morning, you can see a great view of the Himalayan range from Tengboche. We descend to Debuche through the forest of birches conifers and rhododendrons. Crossing the Imja Khola river on a steel bridge, the route climbed to the Pangboche. Our goal for today is to reach Dingboche.
The views are great from Dingboche. You can see Island Peak, Mt. Makalu and another face of Mt. Ama Dablam.

Another acclimatization day in Dingboche. We have a short hike near the Nangakarshang hill to acclimatize to the high altitude. We can see the beautiful views of Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Cho Oyu.
Furthermore, we can also admire the peaks of Cholatse and Taboche. Overnight stay at Dingboche.
Day 7: Highlights

We continue our journey from Dingboche through the high alpine region to the conclusion of Luboche and stay overnight. On the way to Lobuche, we cross the glacial frozen river at Thukla and climb uphill to the Lobuche, watching the magnificent views of Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumori and Mt. Nuptse.

Each day of our trek is exciting, the distance will be shorter and we walk slowly due to the thin air and high altitude. We can see the Khumbu Glacier along the way to Gorakshep. We arrive at Gorakshep. We can view Mt. Pumori and Mt. Nuptse standing above us.
We take short rest at Gorakshep, we walk to the Everest Base Camp, and our expedition crew will welcome you with tea/coffee and meet IMF’s expedition members. You can see a small mountain city (lots of expedition tents) at EBC and can explore the Khumbu glacier too. After having lunch with the expedition team we will trek back to the Gorakshep and stay overnight.

Early in the morning (3 AM) we climb up to the Kala Pattar to view the summit of Mt. Everest. It is the best place to photograph the panoramic view of Mt. Everest and its range. Most of the pictures of Mt. Everest are taken from Kala Pattar.
This is the best part of the Everest Base Camp Trek is the view one can admire from the top of Kala Pattar. It is the point from where the views of the mountains are most accessible through a much wider lens. Situated at the height of 5,545 m, the highest point we reach during the EBC Trek.
After having lunch in Gorakshep we will descend back down to a lower altitude to the Pheriche.

Today we reach Monjo with enjoying the downhill walks. It is a quite long walk. After passing Namche Bazaar, we exit Sagarmatha National Park and reach Monjo for our overnight stay.

It is our rest day in Kathmandu. You can walk around Thamel (tourist hub and market) in the early evening. It is the main tourist attraction where you can have various options to buy. It seems restful to walk around Thamel. (We can arrange half-day sightseeing in Kathmandu (Pashupatinath & Boudhanath) if you wish.)
In the evening we offer a farewell dinner in a Nepali restaurant with cultural shows.
