Experience a range trek of climbing 3 forts in 2 days that gives you an adrenaline rush experience while it requires high endurance, each day a walk of 9 hours is needed to complete this trek in 2 days.
AMK adventure trek is a perfect mixture of trekking, climbing, rappelling, traversing, jungle walking, walking on the edge, steep stairs with a gorge at one end & of course unbelievable satisfaction.
All three forts stand high with a towering height of more than 4,500 ft., providing scenery you will never forget. There are many caves on these peaks where trekkers can be accommodated for night stays and potable water cisterns.
The top of the fort is a vast plateau. There are two caves on the fort for staying and 11 water cisterns. Remnants of buildings are spread over the fort. A small temple is also seen.
From the fort, we can locate Mt. Kalsubai peak, Aundha-Patta, and Bitangad forts situated in the east zone. On the north side, Harihar, Trimbakgad, and Anjaneri are seen. To the south, we can locate Harishchandragad, Aajobagad, Khutta (pinnacle), Ratangad, Katrabai, and surroundings.
Madan gad is considered to be one of the most difficult forts to climb among all the forts in the Sahyadri.
The fort is quite old and also impregnable. The area of the fort is quite small as compared to Alang and Kulang, its adjoining forts. There are only two water tanks on top of the fort and water is available only until March.
There is a cave, which can accommodate around 20-30 trekkers at a time. The area visible from the top of the fort is quite scenic.
Kulang fort is located in the Igatpuri area of Nashik district, on the western side of the Kalsubai hill range. This fort is adjacent to the Madan and Alang forts, all of which were constructed to protect the Nashik-Kalyan ancient commercial road.
There are a few rock-cut cisterns and a cave on the fort. There is no significant construction on the fort, except for a Wada made from stone masonry and the ruined main gate. There is potable water on the way and plenty of clean water on the fort. There are spacious caves on the fort which could accommodate up to 100 persons. The pathway to the fort is made of rock-cut steps.
Please reach your pickup point and mark your attendance. We will travel by private bus to base camp or the starting point of the trek.
Early in the morning, we reach Samrad village at the base of the AMK trek. This is one of the most challenging treks in Maharashtra. Popular with experienced trekkers, in AMK trek we need to rappel 2 rock patches and climb one patch.
Today we will ascend the Alang fort from the west side via Ganesh Darvaja. En route, We climbed a fixed ladder to reach the fort. Explore the top of the Alang fort. After rappelling a 60ft rock patch from Alang fort, we move towards the Madan fort. Exciting side traverse takes us to the base of Madan fort where we climb 40 ft rock patch to reach the top of Madan fort.
Enjoy the sunset & help our cooking staff to cook for us. Enjoy your evening by pitching the tent and sharing happy moments around the campfire. Staying in caves is another adventure to overcome for a night.
