The trek is often undertaken by experienced trekkers who enjoy long-distance trekking and want to explore the historical forts of Rajgad and Raigad in a single journey.
The trek from Rajgad to Raigad involves traversing the Sahyadri mountain range, which may include ascending and descending various peaks and valleys. Trekkers can pass through intermediate points, other forts, villages, and scenic spots along the way.
The trek is physically demanding due to the distance covered and the varied terrain. Trekkers should be well-prepared with adequate fitness levels and stamina.
The trek concludes at Raigad Fort. Rajgad was the first capital of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maratha Empire, and Raigad Fort was the second capital; both the forts were huge to explore & had big historical significance.

Once you reach your pick-up point, mark your presence with the SG-Trekkers representative. Then we will travel by private bus to the starting point of the trek.
Reach Rajgad Fort base by 2-3 am midnight i.e. our starting point of the trek. Start the trek immidiately from Pali village to Padmavati Machi at Rajgad fort. Rest for 1-2 hrs.
Explore the architecture and history of the first capital of Shivaji Maharaj’s empire.
Cross the Sanjeevani Maachi, a long, narrow fortification connecting Rajgad and Torna. Enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Trek to Budhala Maachi, Torna Fort. Descend from Torna fort through the Walanjai Darwaja, a secret exit that leads to Bhatti village. Camp in tents at Bhatti village.
Day 1, Fri: Highlights
• Altitude: ⇑ 450 m / ⇓ 775 m
• Walk (approx.): 8 hrs., 15 km.
• Accommodation: Stay in Tent
• Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Start early and hike towards the Mohri village. Reach Mohri village. Start descending through the Singapur Naal, a scenic valley that offers stunning views of the forts and peaks.
Trek to Dapoli village, the base of Raigad fort. Rest for the day and prepare for the final ascent. Camp in tents at Dapoli village.
Day 2, Sat: Highlights
• Altitude: ⇑ 200 m / ⇓ 1,200 m
• Walk (approx.): 8 hrs., 16 km.
• Accommodation: Stay in Tent
• Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Wake up early & travel by vehicle to Varangi village. Start climbing up to the Raigad Fort, the second capital of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s empire and where he was coronated. Pay tribute to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s samadhi.
Explore the fort and learn about its history and significance. Visit the Maha Darwaja, the Queen’s Quarters, the Public Durbar, the Watch Towers, and the Water tanks. Have lunch. Descend from the fort & return to the Pachad village. Visit Rajmata Jijau Samadhi place at Pachad village.
